gcc-5-multilib software package provides GNU C compiler (multilib support), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcc-5-multilib
gcc-5-multilib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcc-5-multilib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcc-5-multilib *
You will get with gcc-5-multilib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
